Siren is where you talk to your people. The safety features sit underneath, one gesture away, and stay invisible until the day one of them matters.
Talk however you talk
The reason you open Siren every day. Type it, or hold the button and say it when typing is not enough. Everything expires after 24 hours by default, so nothing incriminating survives on a phone that gets searched.
Only women, accounted for
Every account traces back to the member who vouched for her, or to three members who agreed to let her in. Nobody arrives anonymously, so there is nobody to block and nobody to explain yourself to. That is what makes it a different kind of group chat rather than another inbox to manage.
Silent SOS
Hold the button and your live GPS goes to your trusted circle while nothing changes on screen. It can start a silent recording at the same time, encrypted before it leaves your phone.
Triggering it by volume press needs a native app, so for now it is a gesture on screen.
Everything a message should be
Text, voice notes, photos, video, GIFs, reactions, replies and polls. All of it encrypted end to end, so Siren stores what it cannot read, and all of it on a network where every account was vouched for by someone.
Groups, by invite
Private groups for your friends, and public ones pinned to your city, your state or your country. You can see the public ones. Getting in still takes an invite from somebody inside, because a group anyone can walk into is a group a man can walk into.
A cover that works
Install Siren as a calculator or a notes app and that is what it is on your home screen, and what opens when someone else taps it. The calculator calculates and the notes save. Your code gets you past it.
The name and icon come from what you installed, so changing cover means removing Siren from your home screen and adding it again.
Safe word
Say your phrase naturally in a voice message and Siren raises the SOS silently.
Needs a browser that can transcribe speech, which iPhones do not. Siren says so rather than letting you rely on it.
Shake to record
Shake the phone to start a silent recording, encrypted on the way to storage.
Needs a phone that reports movement, and Siren tells you whether yours does.
Fake call
It rings and vibrates like a real call, from a name you choose. Answer it and a voice speaks out loud, so anyone near you hears a conversation rather than silence. Arrange it for a few minutes later and it arrives with Siren closed.
Calling your circle
A real voice call, one to one. The audio goes straight between the two phones and is encrypted between them, so it never passes through Siren at all.
On some mobile networks two phones cannot reach each other directly and the call will not connect. Siren says so instead of showing a timer counting nothing.
Safety map
Where women have raised an alert near you, as distance and direction you can act on. Areas are about a kilometre across and appear only once three different women have alerted in one, so no single woman's night is ever a dot on a map. Contributing your own is off until you turn it on.
Walk With Me
Share a live trip. She sees your route as you move. If you stop, leave the path, or lose battery, she gets an alert carrying your last known location.

Nobody walks in.
Anyone can download Siren. Almost nobody gets past the door. Getting in takes a member who will vouch for you, or three who agree to let you in, and both of those cost something to whoever gives them.

An invite from a member
The fast way in. The code stays attached to the woman who sent it, so vouching for someone means something.

Or three members hear you
No invite? Record a short answer. Three members in your timezone listen, so somebody is awake, and vote without seeing each other.

They never learn who you are
The panel is told a city and nothing else. No name, no photo, no age. You never learn who they were either.

Unanimous, or it escalates
Three yeses and you are in. One no goes to a human reviewer. Two or more and you will need an invite after all.
What the panel is not
It is not a panel judging whether you look like a woman. That would fail the women who need Siren most, and it would fail them first. Members hear a recording and answer one question: is this a real person, speaking honestly, now. Trans women belong here, it says so in the instructions every juror reads, and a no has to carry a reason that gets reviewed.
Sitting on panels is optional. You are asked once, you can say no, and nothing about your account changes if you do.
The Shield
She files it once. The women who need it are told.
A woman reports a man by phone number, in her own words. The report carries a date, a location, and an account that someone vouched for. Any woman who already has that number in her contacts sees a private alert. There are no public profiles, and no way to search by name.
Uncomfortable experience
Persistent unwanted contact, boundary violations, controlling behaviour. First-person testimony only. Several L1 reports from different women escalate the number to L2 automatically.
Felt in danger
Stalking, threats, physical intimidation, coercion. The report needs a date, a location and context. Evidence can be attached. A human moderator reviews it before anyone sees it.
Police report filed
She states that a formal police report or a restraining order exists, and gives the case number. A moderator reads it before another woman sees it. This triggers the strongest alert Siren sends.

You write what happened to you
In your own words, in the first person. Siren won't let you post claims about who he is, only about what he did. That is what keeps you protected.

Nothing about it is public
There is no profile, no name and no photo. A report attaches to a phone number and nothing else.

Only women who already have his number see it
A report reaches a woman with him in her contacts. It cannot be browsed, and it cannot be searched.

He never learns who filed it
Your account traces back to the member who vouched for you, so a false report costs her too. Your identity is never shown to the man you reported.

Anything above L1 goes to a human moderator before another woman ever sees it.
