Everything a message should be
Text, voice notes, photos, video, files, GIFs, reactions, replies and polls. A letter from a lawyer can live somewhere he cannot reach rather than on the phone he can take. All of it encrypted end to end, so Siren stores what it cannot read.
How it works
In a conversation, send text, a voice note, a photo or video, a file or a GIF from the bar at the bottom.
Reply to a single message, react with an emoji, or ask a poll. Tap your answer to a poll again to take your vote back.
Everything is encrypted on your phone before it is sent, to the devices of the women in the conversation and nobody else.
Under Encryption keys, read a code out to her on a call. If the codes match, nobody is in the middle.
Where to find it
Circles, then a conversation. The keys are in its Room settings.
What it will not do
Siren cannot read your messages, photos or files, so it cannot hand them to anyone. Read receipts are yours to turn off under You → Conversations.
Why it works this way
The things women most need to keep are often the ones they least want on a phone someone checks: a lawyer's letter, a screenshot, a photograph of an injury. End-to-end encryption means Siren stores what it cannot read, so there is nothing useful to take from our side.
Free forever, for every woman here.
